The Community Highways Officer and I braved the very cold wind this morning to have a look at a footpath in Park Barn Drive which leads to some of the house fronts. Although it is a footpath, it is being used by car drivers to park at their properties. It has been repaired a few times but it is badly damaged again which makes it difficult for pedestrians and even more so for people pushing pushchairs or for someone with a disability scooter. The short-term solution is quite easy but it costs a lot of money to keep going back and doing the same job time and again. It is going to be difficult to find a way of dealing with it long-term.
I had a phone call from the Chairman of Ashenden Residents’ Association about the roads in Ashenden estate so the CHO and I went round there to have a look at the difficulties there. One of the residents came out to find out what we were doing so we took the chance to have a talk with her.
Then back home and I must admit the hot coffee was very welcome.
