When I was at a meeting of the Park Barn & Westborough Community Association on Tuesday evening one of the Association members who lives on Cabell Road raised a query about the work which is being done at the moment.  I would like to clear up any misunderstandings.  The patchy work which is being done now is to repair the foundations of the road where the sub-soil has been eroded.  This needs to be done before the road itself can be resurfaced because otherwise the new surface would fail.  Once all the remedial work has been done the whole stretch between Barnwood Road and Pond Meadow will be top surfaced.

For years residents have had to put up with one of the worst road surfaces in Guildford.  By the time the work is finished, I hope that we will have the best.
